Instagram Reels pay per view: what Reels pays now the bonus is gone

Instagram has not paid ordinary creators per view since the Reels Play bonus was shut down, and never replaced it with anything open. That makes the comparison on this page the starkest of the five.

Clipping rates are re-read from every live campaign we cover — last updated 2026-10-09. Platform payout figures are not ours: they are compiled from each platform’s published terms and from what creators report earning, and every one of them is dated below.

The short answer

Instagram Reels pays nothing per view. There is no open programme to join, no threshold to work toward, and the RPM figures still circulating for it describe a scheme that has been withdrawn.

Clipping campaigns accepting Instagram Reels posts are paying a median of $1.00 per 1,000 views right now, across 1,025 live campaigns — and the good end of that board is at $2.00. No follower minimum, no view threshold, no application to a partner programme.

$1.00

Per 1,000 views, on the median live campaign accepting Instagram Reels posts. Instagram Reels itself pays nothing per view.

What you have to clear before it pays anything

Nothing, and that is the problem rather than a convenience. There are no published thresholds because there is no programme behind them — so there is also nothing you can build toward that ends in being paid per view.

A clipping campaign asks for none of it. The account you post from can be a week old with forty followers; what the campaign buys is views on a clip, and it pays on the views the clip earns. That is the entire difference in access between the two, and for most people reading this it matters more than the difference in rate.

The same views, both ways

ViewsInstagram ReelsClipping, medianClipping, good campaign
100,000$0$100.00$200.00
1,000,000$0$1,000.00$2,000.00
10,000,000$0$10,000.00$20,000.00

Both clipping columns are read from the live board at the moment this page was rendered: 662 of the 1,025 live campaigns accepting Instagram Reels publish a rate worth counting. The median is the middle of those; the good-campaign figure is the same weighted reading the rest of the site uses, so it matches what you will see on the rate index.

The honest caveat on this table cuts both ways. Campaign budgets run out, so a rate only pays while there is money behind it — and a clip has to be approved. But every one of these views is paid on a campaign, and none of them is paid by Instagram Reels.

Why the figures you'll find are wrong

The Reels Play bonus did pay per view, and it is the source of nearly every 'Instagram Reels RPM' figure still circulating. It closed to new creators in 2023 and was shut down globally on 31 August 2025. A page quoting a Reels RPM today is quoting a programme that no longer exists.

Bonuses still exist, but they reward the performance of reels, carousels and single image posts by invitation, in some countries and for some accounts, and are withdrawn without notice. There is no threshold to work toward because there is no published threshold.

What Instagram itself lists as earning surfaces — subscriptions, gifts, badges, partnership ads and its creator marketplace — all require an audience that already exists. None of them pays for a view on a new account.

Where these numbers come from

Two different places, and the difference matters more than either figure. The clipping rates are measured: read at render time from every live campaign ClipRadar covers, and shown as an em dash rather than an estimate when the read fails.

The Instagram Reels side is compiled, and on this page that means establishing an absence rather than a figure: what we are reporting is that no open per-view programme exists to quote a rate from. Check it against the link below — that is the point of printing it.

Instagram Reels figures compiled from Instagram's own list of ways to earn and from creator-reported earnings. Last checked 2026-09-03.
